Q: Can you take vitamin b12 shots solely for fatigue?
Does anyone here take vitamin b12 shots only for fatigue and nothing else? I am always tired but I went to do blood tests and found nothing. Would it be safe to give myself a shot once a week?
A: If you are having a fatigue problem B-12 is a really good thing to try. I have had this all my life, and was 50 before I found B-12.
I take a daily B-12/B-6/Folic acid tablet that disolves under the tongue. Humans do not absorb B-12 very well from the stomach. I get my pills from a mail-order company called TriVita —you might also get them from a health-food store.
You might cut down to 1/2 tab after a week or so –I have.
The stuff is MAGIC if that is your problem. I read that 10% of people have a severe B-12 shortage that doesn’t show up on blood tests. The effect is instant. Fatigue was my only problem! Good luck!!

Q: Do you need a license in order to give vitamin b12 shots?
My sister-in-law goes across the border to purchass vitamin b12 and other medication not sold over the counter here in the United States. She then sells and gives these shots to people like her co-workers family and friends. Is this illegal or does she need a licence?
A: If she sells them, yes. She needs to have some sort of certification to administer a shot professionally (meaning being able to charge for giving the shot). If she isn’t certified or qualified, she could get in a lot of trouble including potential jail time and huge fees.
Also, she should look into state laws about reselling products that were purchased outside of the country. If she is getting supplements from across the border and resells them, your state may require that she get a business license. Some states don’t require it if it’s under certain amounts, like in the example of garage sales… you don’t have to get a license to sell stuff there unless you make a business out of it and/or sell X amount per month. However, if she’s getting drugs and selling them here, that is totally illegal and she would serve jail time if she was caught for that. Definitely look into it.
Good luck to both of you!
Q: ♥ Do vitamin B12 shots have to be intramuscular? Can they be injected subcutaneously ♥?
A family member of mine who is a retired nurse has been giving my grandmother vitamin B12 shots for a while and she has very little muscle and it’s a pain each month to find a good place with muscle. We have tried major muscles, but I was just wondering if it can be given subcu. since another family member of mine said it could, (she’s a nurse) and said it would be absorbed faster, but I’m not sure if it would last very long.
Thanks in advance!
A: Yes B12 should be IM.
Q: Do vitamin B12 shots prevent or stop vomiting from drinking alcohol?
My girlfriend told me she had once drank about 10 shots of vodka and started vomiting, so her friend gave her a vitamin B12 shot in her butt and within 30 minutes she felt good and had stopped vomiting. I wonder if it works or she was lied to about it being vitamin B12.
A: The sad thing is alcoholic will say just about anything to entice you to join them in their self destruction.
When you consume that much alcohol the body is trying to get rid of, due to the fact the body is being poisoned-Alcohol Poisoning.
The B-12 would have no effect. She might of felt a bit better due to B-12 giving you energy. but was it just energy to consume more alcohol. God Bless Reggie
Q: Where can I find vitamin B12 shots without prescription?
I used to go to a clinic once a week for vitamin b12 shots. This clinic has since moved and I no longer have access to reliable b12 shots. I don’t want to attend 8 years of medical school to give myself shots and I don’t want to pay a doctor to do it either. Is this possible, finding the b12 without prescription and giving myself shots without a medical degree????
A: Injectable B12 isn’t available without a prescription. However, doctors are becoming more open to patients giving their own injections at home. Check with your family doctor about this. Mine was fine with it once she watched me inject myself once in her office. She wrote me a prescription that was easily filled at my local pharmacy, and it’s very inexpensive. Good luck.
Q: what is the long term affect of getting the vitamin b12 shots?
I have low thyroid and my doctor suggested getting the
B12 shots to boost my energy, yet what are the affects of that on my organs in the future?
A: None that I know of. If you need them they’re helpful.
Q: CAn i ask my doctor for Vitamin B12 Shots to loose weight?
I heard that it helps you loose weight and i am 210 pounds. And i am nursing my daughter, But i heard that it is safe, My family is fairley obese and want to reduce this. So can i ask my Doctor about this? Or do they even do this in Canada, Ont? Anywayz any awnsers will be greatly apperciated. Thanks.
A: i haven’t done reasearch on the shot in particulare. If all the shot is, is just only vitamin b12, i can’t see it being useful at all cept for a very short period of time, or a daily shot.
if it is only vit b12, personally you’re better off with supplements, i’m sure it’s a lot cheaper to buy a bottle of vit b12 at your local drug store.
vitamin A, D, E, K are the only fat soluble vitamins. Basically the ones you’d find in dairy and vegetables(which is why its good to have butter on cooked vegetables, it helps with the absorbtion of these fat soluble vitamins)
All the rest of the vitamin letters like vit C and all the B’s are water soluble. This means you can take 500% of vitamin C and by the next day if you’ve drinken your daily amount of water you would have peed it all out. So vitamin B won’t last very long in your system.
To lose weight, they say aerobics is the best, whether it be yoga, pilates, or what have you. A better result for me, although i’m male, i found it easier to lose weight by lifting. It doesn’t have to be heavy lifting, but just enough to build muscle. By building muscle you increase yoru body’s metabolism. This means if you were to just sit around all day, you’d be burning extra calories. It may not burn as much calories as aerobics does, but then again you don’t have to lift for an hour, and if you’re on a tight schedule this allows you to be lazy for a bit and still burn extra calories.
Q: has anyone had acne outbreak due to vitamin b12 shots? If so, how long did it take to clear off?
I have had 5 injections of hydrocobalamin over a 12 day period and after the third one, had an outbreak of acne type reaction on my face and upper back. My doc discontinued the injections, it is now 8 days since the last injection but my face is no better. Please help.
A: I get B12 shots every week for weight loss but I haven’t had any break outs.
Thats really weird…I would maybe see a dermatologist they can tell you more about skin irritations and if it is serious or not.
Q: How do I get vitamin b12 shots, or where can I get them? I live in Miami?
A: Any primary care physician can evaluate you and determine if B-12 shots are indicated for treatment of your illness.
Q: I am taking Vitamin B12 shots; one every week for four weeks and now once a month.?
I have a blood disease that lowers my red blood cell count so I am always anemic. I am also depressed and utterly fatigued. Some days I can’t get out of bed. All I want to do is get up in the morning, do things with my husband, cook dinner. Will these shots help me?
I also take 50,000 mg of Vitamin D once a week (perscription) My endocrinologist said my count was 5 and that was very low.
A: Yes, they will help. I’ve taken them for many months, and I noticed a difference in the first 2 months. You can also take a vitamin B-12 complex supplement.
Q: 16 yrs old and have to take vitamin b12 shots…
ok so i just went in to my family doctor and she tells me that i have to take b12 shots once a week than once a month. I don’t know whats wrong with me, do i have vitamin b12 deficiency? will i have to take shots for the rest of my life?
A: Either you should pay more attention to what your doctor tells you, or if she didn’t tell you why you need the shots then you should get another doctor.
Q: Is there a way to obtain B12 vitamin shots?
without a prescrption in a US pharmacy? I need it for someone overseas.
A: I really think you would need a prescription for those but I know you can get B-12 over the counter. Also you might run into trouble sending either one with security. Good luck.
Q: I have been going to a nutricianist who provides me with vitamin b12 shots, can someone tell me what they do?
And i know…..why the hell am i taking something that i have no idea of!
A: This nutritionist doesn’t seem to bright if they won’t tell you why your taking it. Vitamin B12 helps maintain healthy nerve cells and red blood cells. It is also needed to help make DNA. If you are deficient symptoms include anemia, fatigue, weakness, constipation, loss of appetite, and weight loss and depression, confusion, dementia, poor memory, and soreness of the mouth or tongue.
Q: Have you taken vitamin B12 shots?
Hi there,
I would be interested to know the reasons why you have taken vitamin B12 shots. How frequently did you take them? In what amount? For how long? Did it make any significant contribution to your health and lifestyle? In what ways?
Thanking you in advance.
Thank you everyone for your time and kind responses.
Marielle: Do you mind my asking what’s the name of this blood test? And how old are you?
Hope it’s not too intrusive.
A: I had mono in 10th grade, I was really ill for almost an entire year. After my liver-values had returned to normal, I still felt extremely tired, so I went to see my doctor. I had low amounts of b12 and iron, so I got b12 injections, first every week for six weeks, then once a month for three months and then once every six months (I think that I got 12 injections in total)
For me the effect was almost immediate, if i got an injection in the morning, I felt better the same evening… My doctor never investigated further why my levels were so low, and i haven`t gotten shots in about four years. I’ve been feeling the same kind of fatigue lately, so I started wondering if my low levels were caused by a lack of intrinsic factor (which basically means I need more shots) so I just got back from taking a blood-sample and I’ll know next week…
Hope that’s of any help
Q: Autism and vitamin B12 shots?
Hi there,
This question is open ONLY to those who have one or more family members diagnosed with autism AND tried vitamin B12 shots as a treatment.
a) How did you come to know about the vitamin B12 shots?
b) How frequently did the person with autism take the shots? In what amount? For how long?
c) Did he/ she have any adverse side effects?
d) Did it make any significant improvement in his/ her health/ lifestyle? In what ways?
e) Could you kindly provide some references in relation to autism and vitamin B12 shots?
f) What role diet has in the improvement of the condition of an autistic individual?
g) Would naturopathy be regarded as a reliable treatment for the condition of autism?
Thanking you in advance for your response, time, patience and kind support.
A: I found out about the B12 theory through various readings on autism and web site groups I belong to.
My son had them once a week.
There were no adverse side effects.
I did not see any significant changes in his lifestyle.
You can go to the Cure Autism Now or D.A.N.! website and go into their research or biomedical files for information for references in the relation between Autists and B12.
My son did become somewhat more verbal after shots but they have been coincidental as well.
Many people believe B12, DHA, Omega3s, Magnesium and Zinc are good supplements for autistic people. Many Autists have shown vitamin deficiencies with these specific vitamins. Personally my son takes a vitamin with high level of all of these.
