Q: How to take sublingual b12 lozenges most effectively?
I find it hard not to swallow the saliva that gathers in my mouth and it takes forever for the pill to disolve…
I think im doing something wrong cos i dont feel the energy effect and have been taking Jarrows 1000mcg B12 and the vitamin B-complex supplements for about a week now.
A: They are pretty useless. a waste of money.
Q: How much is too much vitamin D, B12?
(I originally posted this in Health > Diet & Fitness, but only received relentless spam and answers without scientific evidence or medical basis. After deleting the post, I have decided to post in this category hoping for a more specific and reliable answer. I appologize for any inconvenience.)
Being anemic, I am currently taking three supplements recommended by my doctor, iron, vitamin D and B12. I recently purchased SlimQuick, a weight-loss supplement I have used before, which contains both vitamins, D and B12. I am unsure if the amount of these vitamins I am consuming is beyond a healthy dosage. According to my doctor, any excess of needed vitamins will be urinated out, yet my worries remain.
Floradix Floravital (ferrous gluconate):
Vitamin B12 – 7.5 mcg (125% DV)
Vitamin D3 Supplement:
Vitamin D3 – 1000 IU (250% DV)
B-Complex Sublingual Liquid:
Vitamin B12 – 1,200 mcg (20,000% DV)
SlimQuick*:
Vitamin D – 200 IU (50% DV)
Vitamin B12 – 12 mcg (200% DV)
(Also includes 200 mcg of Folic Acid)
Total:
Vitamin D – 1,200 IU (300% DV)
Vitamin B12 – 1,219.5 mcg (20,325% DV)
The percentages are what worry me.
Note: In a blood test, both my vitamin D and B12 levels were between 5 and 8 units below the standard levels.
*SlimQuick contains, from what I can gather, natural ingredients that do not strike me as harmful.

A: Whether a vitamin can get to toxic levels in the body depends on whether they are lipid woluble or water soluble. Lipid soluble vitamins will accumulate in fat when taken in high doses and can then have toxic effectc. Water soluble vitamins will be excreted in the urine when taken in excess. Vitamins A,D, E and K are lipid soluble all the others are water soluble. I would therefore be wary of taken this supplement along with those recommended by your doctor. I would stick with what the doctor has given you and ask him/her for another blood test to check your levels after a few weeks.
Q: Any good supplements for heavy brain fog and mental fatigue?
I have unexplained health problems, brain fog, as well as low energy. If nothing else I want something to help alleviate brain fog and improve mental processes, as I find this is even worse than low energy.
Things i’ve tried:
- High doses of sublingual B12, and dibencozide: helps but not enough
- Omega 3 supplements: causes moodiness and anxiety, which cancels out the benefits
- B complex tablets: slight help at best
I cannot take SAM-e because I’m on an antidepressant. The antidepressant causes some tiredness, but the mental impairment and fatigue only came about recently so it is unrelated.
Anyone else with these problems found something that helps???
A: Swisse Mens or Womens Formula.
I kid you not, this will give you a boost and clearer mind, and maybe a skip in your step!
I tried many things Centrum, all sorts of multivitamins etc, but this runs rings around anything I’ve tried before!
Q: Tell me if this is too much?
Im taking the following.
1-2 wellbutrin a day.
1 klonopin (currently tapering off)
A very extensive multi-vitamin ( has everything under the sun)
sublingual B-12 complex (400 mcg folic acid, 3,000 B12)
Fish Oil (Concentrate 2,000 mg, EPA 1,000mg, DHA 150mg)
Bachs rescue remedy (when needed)
Valerian root and Passion Flower when needed.
I work out everyday and walk 3-4 miles as well.
I feel GREAT. Sometimes my eyes feel a bit blurry but Im attributing that to new contact lenses. What do you guys think? Am I over doing it? Or am I right on track?
A: Yes, your taking more than your body needs.
